“The Elements of User Experience: User - Centered Design for the Web”
By Jesse James Garrett » Visit Site…
Although very basic, this book is great for getting the fundamentals of experience design. Garret creates a model that describes the web design process through five distinct stages. Then he breaks down each stage to identify the differences and overlapping areas between the web as a software interface and the web as a hypertext system. The clarity of this model illuminates the subtle differences between various terms which often get used interchangeably in the field, like information design, interaction design and navigation.
A Must Read!
“Grid Systems”
By Kimberly Elam, » Visit Site…
I really enjoyed this book. It provides a nice, historically aware introduction to design by grid systems. The book is ideal for those interested in print design, but it is also helpful for web designers as well. Mainly exercises, it will return what you put into it. The book is more of a hands on study than simple reader.
“jQuery Cookbook”
By jQuery Community Experts and O’Reilly » Visit Site…
The jQuery Cookbook, like the many other Cookbook series of books from O'Reilly, proves to be an extremely valuable addition to any web developer's bookshelf. There's nothing unexpected here - it's a book full of practical solutions to hundreds of everyday problems.
If you are familiar with jQuery basics, a cover-to-cover reading of this book will take you to the next level, but most developers will only read the entries that pertain to the problems they face during development.
I found that a majority of the recipes were well written and clear with properly tested and working code. All-in-all, the jQuery Cookbook is a useful and reliable resource for practical jQuery development.
“Do You Matter? - How Great Design Will Make People Love Your Company”
By Robert Brunner and Stewart Emery » Visit Site…
This colorful, beautifully designed book is more than just about design and how to market your product and service better. It is about a whole new perspective on life and how to approach every aspect of one's company with excellence. It is about listening to the people we serve and making a difference. The by-product is a seamless impactful success. Through company stories, I learned that everything matters and no detail in the process of creation is unimportant. It's up to you to keep doing it with consistency (no one-time magic pill here!) As a graphic designer and entrepreneur I found it very inspiring!
